2014 Tree Planting – Makara Cemetery

TreeplantingEvery year Return to Sender plants a native tree for every casket to make a small environmental contribution.

This year we had an amazing group of friends and family of at Makara Cemetery dedicated Wellington funeral directors, Wellington who helped plant 221 native trees.

Massive shout out to Trees for Survival who continue to source the trees, Mark Blackham from the Natural Burial Association whose vision it was to even start this concept here and the team from Wellington City Council (yes that is you Jeff Paris and team!) who made it all so effortless for us all by digging holes etc… before we even got there!

Heartfelt thanks to the ever-present Melissa Clark Reynolds.

We had a rewarding day and will be back next year! See our Facebook page for more photos.
