This model was named the 'Essence' because anything superfluous has been stripped away. What is left is a minimal elegant form - a vessel to honour the deceased with the use of minimal materials or toxins. At about 20kg, its mass is a fraction of some caskets. This may make the difference when considering who can carry the casket - perhaps older children can have an opportunity to participate in the ceremony. The handles are built in and the lid is fixed by wooden keys (supplied). No plastic or metal handles or screws are required. The wool fleece mattress and pillow come standard and the timber is sanded with no additional finishes.
